while you were sleepin'...

Mistah F.A.B dropped some new heat. I'm not too sure he has any OLD heat, but this joint goes. Put your headphones on.

while you were sleepin'...

I bought a hat like this and so should you!

The flaps fold up around the top when you don't need them. Shit is warm, comfortable, and makes you look like a certified badass...

while you were sleepin'...

This dropped and I shit. Originally rumored to be off Detox, it was later revealed that this song was actually recorded a few years back. Still pretty sick.

while you were sleepin'...

Pacewon and Mr. Green released the 2nd single off their upcoming album The Only Number That Matters is Won, which I fully expect to be one of 2011's best. In case your sleepin' ass missed the 1st single, do yourself a solid and click right here.

And while I'm at it, here goes another joint produced by Mr. Green that I came across awhile back and never got around to sharing with anybody...

Fuckin' DOPE song, beat, and video! "I LOVE IT!"

while you were sleepin'...

I found out about this dude David Dallas from New Zealand. After recently signing with Duck Down Records, he's now moved to the good ol' USA and is recording a new album. Here's a few standout tracks from one of his earlier albums, Something Awesome, which I ain't gonna lie... is just that. Holler at me if you want it, or just youtube the rest.

Here's a cut that didn't make the album, by the way, titled "It's Cold".

while you were sleepin'...

(and most of you have been your whole life)

Oh's is maybe the greatest cereal of all time. Need proof? Just take a gander at the chubby, excessively-happy-to-a-point-of-creepiness, weird, Asian girl; who enjoys decorating her door with wrapping paper; pictured to the left, with her crunchy, oat filled, honey graham, pyramid. Or you can just trust your boy... Go buy a box the next time you're perusing the breakfast aisle at your local Piggly Wiggly.

Stream/Download
The official, extended, CDQ version of this song was released. Everyone did their thing, but I gotta say Yeezy spazzed the most.

while you were sleepin'...

Rex Ryan's fat ass, plus the rest of the New York Jets, got their asses handed to them on MNF.

Maybe now, for once, this fat tub of goo will shut his mouth. By the way, the Jets are a really good team but they have one very major flaw... the QB position.  Completing 17 of 33 passes for 164 yards, with 0 TD's and 3 INT's just ain't gonna get it done.

I especially liked Tom Bradys quote after the game: "When you win, say little. When you lose, say less". Ouch, Rexy.

Conan wore "jeggings". Funny because it's funny, but also because, I too, have had many a question about these, as my girlfriend constantly wears them... Thankfully, she looks much better in them.

The 1st season of Boardwalk Empire wrapped up last night, and it didn't disappoint.

If you don't watch this show, then you need to do one of two things: Stop being such a cheapass and order HBO, or, stop being such a dumbass and WAKE THE EFF UP!  It's too early to compare Boardwalk Empire to The Sopranos just yet, but trust me, the potential is definitely there. Directed by Martin Scorsese (need I say more?), everything about the show is brilliant. The cast and acting are both top-notch. The storyline is enveloping and based on a very fascinating time period in America. The characters are deep, well written, and based on real people (Al Capone, Lucky Luciano). There's plenty of sex and violence. And almost as important as all of that, it's just a beautiful show to look at. Whether it's huge, elaborate, sets that are built inside of Hollywood studios, or just good ol' fashion computer graphics and special effects; the picture that's painted for you of Atlantic City in the 1920's seems very accurate, and it's all pulled off wonderfully.

To put it in layman's terms, Boardwalk Empire is the best show on TV, it's gangsta gangster as shit, and if you're not watching it, you're sleepin'.

Joe Budden got even better.

Download
A Turn 4 The Worst is the 4th installment, and yet another dope addition to Joey's Mood Muzik series.    Known as an emcee with a bad ear for the beats, I think the production on MM4 is very good. Guest appearances are scarce, but solid, too. Lyrically, Budden is as on point as you'd expect, if only more emotional, sincere, and heartfelt with his bars.
From the album's second track, "Aftermath" (my personal favorite),  to the Lloyd Banks-Fabolous-Royce Da 5'9"-assisted "Remember the Titans," to the highly personal "Black Cloud," it cannot be denied that this tape is bangin' and definitely has high replay value. Some of his best work to date, no doubt.

while you were sleepin'...

I probably ate at least 3 of these things.

I love hot dogs... Love 'em. But these hot dogs, excuse me, "Beef Frankfurters," are so fucking good (and yes, so completely worthy of seperating themselves from the hot dog name) that you'll never want to stuff a Ballpark down your fat gullet again. And trust me, those are hard words to say, as I AM GAY for Michael Jordan and any product that he endorses. Think you're fancy eating Hebrew National or Sabrett brand wieners? You're a chump. Go get a pack of these badboys from your local Harris Teeter and unleash your inner Joey Chestnut.

while you were sleepin'...

It was smooth sailin' for the Niners on MNF, beating the Cardinals 27-6. Not so smooth, however, was Cardinals QB Derek Anderson's press conference after the game. Pure comedy.

Jay Electronica signed to Roc Nation.

Jay Electronica- The Announcement

Jay Electronica- Shiny Suit Theory ft. Jay-Z, The Dream, Charlotte Gainsbourg

Hopefully the 2 songs he's done since inking the deal (above) are a sign of things to come...

while you were sleepin'...

I nearly gave myself a hernia from laughing so hard at the Miami Heat.

After tonight's loss to the Orlando Magic, they are now 8-7 thru 15 games. Someone please pinch me because I'm beginning to think that I'm asleep too. I don't care what they do going forward, this is epically embarrassing.

...almost as embarrassing as having Juwan Howard on your active roster.

while you were sleepin'...

I listened again. And again. And again.

>

Still think the statement pictured above is true.

It's not that I don't like My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, I just think the best songs on the album were already released as singles for Kanye's "G.O.O.D Friday" series ("Devil in a New Dress", "Runaway", and "So Appalled"). Plus, the G.O.O.D Friday tape (download) has that Pete Rock produced joint "The Joy" on it, which is oh so smooth... cool story behind that song, too.

while you were sleepin'...

This shit provided me with a cheap laugh, just like its predecessor did.

while you were sleepin'...

I inhaled a bag of Sweet Cajun Trail Mix from Target...

The #1 seed in my snack-bracket. Get familiar.

while you were sleepin'...

This became my new favorite song.

Off The Left's debut album, Gas Mask, "The Melody" is a throwback to the hiphop that I grew up listening to, still love, and miss hearing more of today. Listen for yourself, and afterwards, strongly consider downloading the whole damn album as it's one of my favorites of 2010.

Still need convincing? Check out a review from someone else that wasn't caught sleeping right here.

while you were sleepin'...

I started a new blog!

The concept is simple: Things you missed that you shouldn't have.
Maybe you were too busy. Maybe you weren't paying attention. Or maybe you were actually just sleeping.

Whatever the excuse, the world kept moving and some cool shit went down. Let me catch you up.
