while you were sleepin'...

The 1st season of Boardwalk Empire wrapped up last night, and it didn't disappoint.

If you don't watch this show, then you need to do one of two things: Stop being such a cheapass and order HBO, or, stop being such a dumbass and WAKE THE EFF UP!  It's too early to compare Boardwalk Empire to The Sopranos just yet, but trust me, the potential is definitely there. Directed by Martin Scorsese (need I say more?), everything about the show is brilliant. The cast and acting are both top-notch. The storyline is enveloping and based on a very fascinating time period in America. The characters are deep, well written, and based on real people (Al Capone, Lucky Luciano). There's plenty of sex and violence. And almost as important as all of that, it's just a beautiful show to look at. Whether it's huge, elaborate, sets that are built inside of Hollywood studios, or just good ol' fashion computer graphics and special effects; the picture that's painted for you of Atlantic City in the 1920's seems very accurate, and it's all pulled off wonderfully.

To put it in layman's terms, Boardwalk Empire is the best show on TV, it's gangsta gangster as shit, and if you're not watching it, you're sleepin'.
