Still think the statement pictured above is true.
It's not that I don't like My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, I just think the best songs on the album were already released as singles for Kanye's "G.O.O.D Friday" series ("Devil in a New Dress", "Runaway", and "So Appalled"). Plus, the G.O.O.D Friday tape (download) has that Pete Rock produced joint "The Joy" on it, which is oh so smooth... cool story behind that song, too.
I see what you're saying with some of the best songs already being released. I honestly wish I never heard those prior to this album. But it didn't change my perception of this album as a whole. Songs like "Dark Fantasy" and "All of the Lights" are super fresh. "Hell of a Life" is nasty. It's like, for once in a long time, I can listen to a hip hop album and say, "I've never heard someone do this before." He sets the bar for everyone and sets it high.
